You can learn basic bachata steps in 6-10 lessons. Bachata offers an easier entry compared to salsa. Sensual bachata requires more practice and body movement work.
Dominican bachata is more traditional, footwork-focused and faster. Sensual bachata is modern, based on body waves and isolations, slower and more emotional. We teach both styles in our studio.
No, flexibility is not a prerequisite for bachata. Body movement and isolations develop over time. Our lessons include warm-up and stretching to naturally improve your flexibility.
Bachata is essentially a partner dance, but lady styling (solo figures) is also an important part. In our group classes, you learn both partner work and styling.
